Incident tab


Personal Injury cases in MerusCase have a unique tab labeled Incident. This tab is a dynamic resource for keeping track of Incident information. You can record incident details, police report information, a statute of limitations, and more. This tab will present you with different details depending upon the case type you select (Motor Vehicle Accident, Premise Liability, Medical Malpractice, etc).

Using the Incident Tab

  1. Open your Case File.

  2. Click the Incident Tab

  3. Click the Edit button in the upper right corner.

  4. Fill in your Incident information. There are many fields available to enter information:

    • Date of Incident: Refers to the date the incident occurred. This date is used for the Statute calculation.

    • Set Statute Expiry: Select a relevant statute from the dropdown menu, and click on Add Statute to add the statute to your calendar.

    • Location: Record the location of the incident. As you type an address, suggestions will appear. Once an address is selected, the map will display the area.

    • Incident Details: Record specific details about the incident.

    • Court Case Number: Log the case number in this section. Use the Alternate Case Number section for an additional reference number.

    • (Case Type Specific Info): Various fields will only appear for the appropriate case type, as detailed in the section below.

Once you have entered in the incident information you would like to record, click the Save button at the top of the page.
