Can I export my data?
You bet! One of the best features of MerusCase is knowing that your data is secure and backed up frequently. Nonetheless, we do understand that, every now and then, you may need a copy of your data that you can save on your personal computer.
In this case, you have a couple of options:
- Download a Document Archive from your MerusCase account
- Request a physical copy of your data from Merus, Inc.
Downloading a Document Archive from MerusCase
Document Archives can be downloaded on a case-by-case basis and are very simple to complete. The archive includes a zipped copy of all documents within a case and a CSV file of all Case Activities, which can be opened in Excel. If a case had no documents, only the CSV file of case activities will be generated. For instructions on where to find and generate a case’s Document Archive, refer to Case Left-Panel Navigation.
Requesting a Physical Copy of Your Firm’s Data
If you would prefer a physical copy of your data (on a DVD or other type of media), please contact MerusCase Support. We can deliver a full backup of your data and documents at any interval you require on the media of your choice. Due to the manual process of gathering your data and the media needed, a modest fee will apply.
Ultimately, there’s no need to worry: your data is always yours and always accessible via the aforementioned methods. (But all bets are off if you don’t pay for the software.)
Data Storage and Archival Policy
Merus, Inc. does not own any data, information or material that you submit to the Service in the course of using the Service (“Customer Data”). You, not Merus, Inc., shall have sole responsibility for the accuracy, quality, integrity, legality, reliability, appropriateness, and intellectual property ownership or right to use of all Customer Data, and Merus, Inc. shall not be responsible or liable for the deletion, correction, destruction, damage, loss or failure to store any Customer Data. In the event this Agreement is terminated (other than by reason of your breach), Merus, Inc. will make available to you a file of the Customer Data within 30 days of termination if you so request at the time of termination for a modest prepaid fee to cover retrieval, media, and shipping. Merus, Inc. reserves the right to withhold, remove and/or discard Customer Data without notice for any breach, including, without limitation, your non-payment. Upon termination for cause, your right to access or use Customer Data immediately ceases, and Merus, Inc. shall have no obligation to maintain or forward any Customer Data.
